Custom footwear leader, Zero G, selects Finland as its European base

The world’s largest provider of fully custom athletic footwear, Zero G, is expanding to Europe and will open its international R&D headquarters in Helsinki on November 16, 2015.

Zero G’s European expansion, its Customization Research and Footwear Technology (CRAFT) Center, is designed for open innovation in footwear development, with visitors able to test Zero G’s custom insole prototypes, view its patent-pending technology, and participate in studies with the company’s latest product lines.

Best foot forward

As a technology-driven footwear company, the selection of Finland for its inaugural European location was an easy decision.

“Helsinki offers the highest caliber of researchers in Europe,” explained Zero G CEO Patrik Louko. “We’re a company that’s led by innovation, so we choose to be based where the innovators – researchers, engineers – are.”

Actively recruiting not only technical talent, but customers, as well, Zero G will be immersing itself in the local technical ecosystem even before its official CRAFT Center launch.

Zero G will be present at Slush and providing complementary custom insole fittings from its booth. Additional insole fittings will be available by appointment at its CRAFT Center from November 16 onward.
